Held Place
Held Place is an ongoing photographic exploration of light as an emotional expression of place. Begun in 2010, the series grew from Ava Bock's interest in how fleeting light, horizon lines, and the quiet geometry of a landscape can shape the way a place is experienced and remembered.
As Ava's relationship with place has evolved through relocation and displacement, so has the series. Each photograph considers the connection between landscape, light, and emotional presence, reflecting how a place can remain with us even as our relationship to it changes.
