Earthbound

Earthbound is a photographic collection rooted in close attention, where the stillness of place and the intimacy of detail converge. It traces Ava Bock's earliest connection to light and the natural world, shaped by the mentorship of photographer Gloria Kutscheid and her book More Than Trees.

That early guidance taught Ava to see the Earth as a living, expressive form, opening a path toward abstraction and a lifelong attentiveness to land, light, and the personality within nature.

Through macro and landscape photography, Earthbound invites a slower way of seeing that is grounded in natural form, emotional presence, and subtle material shifts. As her practice has evolved, this relationship with nature has remained a throughline, deepening her commitment to its sustainability.
