Living and working within the temperate rainforests of Western North Carolina and Oregon has shaped how Ava Bock approaches materials, process, and responsibility. These environments have encouraged a slower, more intentional way of working, where the impact of making matters alongside the finished work.
Sustainability at Ava Bock Art is not presented as a finished achievement. It is an evolving studio practice built around thoughtful choices, reduced waste, responsible partnerships, and continued improvement.

Materials are considered for durability, function, and environmental impact, with bio-based and alternative material systems used where appropriate.
The studio works to reduce unnecessary waste, extend the useful life of materials, and continually reconsider how the work can be made with greater care.
Partnerships + Giving
Packaging + Fulfillment
Studio responsibility extends beyond the artwork through partnerships and giving that support conservation, reforestation, climate action, and more responsible business practices.
Packaging is kept as minimal as possible while protecting the artwork in transit, with recycled and high post-consumer-content materials prioritized when available.
Materials + Studio Practice
Thoughtful materials. Considered processes.
Material choices are an important part of Ava Bock's studio practice. Bio-based epoxies and algae-derived urethanes are used as alternatives to conventional resin systems where they meet the needs of the work, balancing environmental considerations with the durability and structural qualities required of finished artwork.
The same attention extends to how materials are used in the studio. Processes are approached with an emphasis on reducing unnecessary waste, making deliberate use of resources, and creating work intended to endure rather than treating sustainability as a claim of perfection.
