After the Divide — Dark IV
Dark IV uses opposing light temperatures to reshape the familiar structure of Shedding. Cool illumination travels across the foreground while amber light appears along recessed edges, separating overlapping forms from the surrounding darkness. Surface marks remain visible, preserving evidence of the sculpture's physical history rather than concealing it.
Part of the After the Divide series, this photograph resulted from the reworking of Shedding, a sculpture damaged during Hurricane Helene. As the sculpture was repaired and transformed, close photographic observation revealed compositions within its altered surfaces, allowing light, color, depth, and material to separate from the larger form and become works in their own right.
Printed on archival Hahnemühle German Etching paper, the work is presented unframed and available exclusively in limited editions:
8 × 12 in (21 × 29.7 cm) — Limited Edition of 50 — $145
12 × 18 in (30 × 45 cm) — Limited Edition of 25 — $325
16 × 24 in (40 × 60 cm) — Limited Edition of 20 — $575
